You could make a lifetime of difference in a child’s life — by simply opening your heart and your home. Each year, individuals just like you step up to provide love, care, and shelter to the thousands of abused and neglected children who are no longer able to live with their own parents or families. At ACH, we partner with our foster parents every step of the way offering support, training, and our years of experience. Help give a child a second chance. Consider becoming a foster parent.
Every child deserves a home where love, security, and acceptance are a reality, not just a dream. At ACH, we want to help each child find a family they can call their own. We work closely with our adoptive parents; providing training, counseling, and support — all throughout the adoption process. We invite you to learn more about ACH and our adoption program.
Professional Parenting is a program that trains and supports experienced foster parents to care for children with severe emotional and behavioral needs, and it is an alternative to higher levels of care, such as residential treatment settings. ACH will provide additional training, compensation and support to professional parents.
As we learn more about trauma, and how it affects children in our care, the demand for highly skilled professional parents becomes increasingly important. Could professional parenting be right for you?
ACH Child and Family Services has been serving the needs of the Dallas/Fort Worth community for nearly 100 years. Chartered in 1915 as the Church Women’s Cooperative Home, we began by providing care for destitute women and children in the city of Fort Worth. After nearly ten decades of existence, countless moves, numerous name changes, several philosophy redirections, and continued expansion of our programs and services, ACH Child and Family Services remains dedicated to helping children, youth and families in our community overcome life’s challenges. We offer a variety of innovative programs and services aimed at protecting children and preserving families. And you can choose to play an important part in making that happen. We invite you to explore our Foster Care, Adoption, and Professional Parenting pages to learn more about how you can partner with ACH as we strive to make a difference — one child at a time.
