We believe every child deserves to grow up in an environment of love, secure in the knowledge that they are protected from harm, surrounded by those who care for them, and offered every opportunity to thrive, prosper and reach their maximum potential. In some cases, foster care is the key to that happening. Foster care families provide a vital service to children who have been abused or neglected and unable to live with their parents or families due to concerns for their safety and well-being. Often victims of physical, sexual or psychological abuse or neglect, these children deserve an opportunity to experience a healthy, loving, and safe home environment. By generously opening their homes to these children, foster care families offer a safe place to grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Foster care provides an important next step as these children move toward a more permanent solution to their situation (return to their biological family, another family member or, when that is not possible, to an adoptive home). It is not uncommon for foster care families to become the permanent adoptive parents for the children in their care.
